Swedish Massage

Sooth Away Stress in Body and Mind

Swedish massage combines stroking, kneading and pressing the soft tissue of the skin to warm and release tight muscles into deep relaxation. The therapeutic benefits of Swedish massage include stretching and loosening muscles, stimulating circulation and lymphatic drainage, easing joint stiffness and increasing mobility, in addition to promoting overall health of skin and body.

There are four basic strokes used in Swedish massage. The long strokes of effleurage promote relaxation. Petrissage, or kneading strokes, squeeze and stretch areas of tightness into release. The circular and cross patterns of friction stimulate and warm muscles for deeper tissue penetration. And finally, tapotement, or short, brisk drumming movements applied by the edge of the hands stimulate circulation. The combination of these strokes in a full body treatment restores physical balance and vitality.

For your added comfort, all sheets are 100% cotton, washed in earth friendly detergent with no added dyes or perfumes. The oils applied to the skin are organic, hypoallergenic and water-soluble. You remain snugly covered with only the area being massaged exposed. Nourish your physical self to optimum health.
